Jeffrey Needs a Kidney Urgently!
What if you could save a life? Jeffrey Borenstein hopes that someone will read his story and help save his life by donating a kidney.
Two years ago, Jeffrey took a medical leave from his job as a college physics lecturer in order to concentrate on curing his illness.
Jeffrey's kidney disease worsened to the point where he needs to undergo a four-hour, dialysis treatment three times a week. This leaves him physically drained. He cannot miss even one session. At times, complications have landed him in the emergency room. His doctors have advised him to look for a kidney donor since a transplant is the only long-term solution available. A person needs only one kidney to live a healthy life. Any healthy person, age 18-65, can become a kidney donor.
Jeffrey needs to find a kidney donor soon. Each passing day lessens the prospects of a long-term solution.
Before he became ill, Jeffrey loved teaching young adults and being outdoors. He was an avid skier, runner and tennis player. Jeff and his wife, Lilly, have 6 children, one grandchild and another on the way. He hopes he will be able to continue to spend time with his family and return to doing the things he used to enjoy.
You may not be the person who can donate the kidney, but Jeffrey is asking for your help in the hope that you can connect him to a potential donor through your social media network. The more people he reaches, the greater the chance he has of finding that special, caring person who can give the gift of life.
Many kidney donors hear about someone’s need through another person’s e-mail, facebook page, twitter post or blog. That's what Jeffrey is praying for now. That someone will help save his life. He's very optimistic that there is someone out there who can help him. He needs everyone's help now to get the word out to your friends, family and associates.
