Your mortgage and housing expenses are your #1 priority and more important than your other bills, especially consumer goods.
Your homeowner housing expenses include:
- Mortgage (due monthly)
- Property taxes (due twice per year)
- Hazard insurance (due annually)
- HOA fees (if applicable)
Stop and think about it. What expenses should be paid first, above all others? Your housing expense should always be paid before anything else because it is the roof over your head. It provides shelter for you and your family. It is the most basic necessity.
If you don't pay your mortgage (or rent), where are you going to live? So do not jeopardize the security of your family’s home. Always make sure your housing bill is paid on the first day of the month, before any other bills are paid.
