Things to do in Alameda: The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, January 7 and Tuesday, February 10 mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine. All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices. So good! Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers. The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.
Things to do in Alameda: Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks on February 7, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco. The trucks include The Chairman, Cupkates, KoJa Kitchen, An the Go, Bacon, Bacon, SAJJ, The Waffle Roost, Thali on Wheels and Borinquen Soul.
Things to do in Alameda: Saturday, February 7, Noon to 3:30 pm celebrate the opening of “another doer opens” artists reception, a show of mixed media work by Bob Doerr and oil paintings by Michael Karvasales. There will be live music at the reception at Alameda Museum, 2324 Alameda Avenue in Alameda
Things to do in Alameda: Saturday, February 7 at 1:00 pm, the Golden Gate Chapter of Steamship Historical Society of America will meet at the Alameda Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue. Dick Rutter, an Alamedan architect, will speak on “Whaling History: Alameda, the Bay Area and America.” Free to the public.

Things to do in Alameda: Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 pm, PEERS’ will present a grand costume ball inspired by A Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire at the Alameda Elks Lodge at 2255 Santa Clara Avenue. There will be dance lessons prior to the ball followed by vintage ballroom dance music, no-host bar, light snack buffet. Historical attire or fancy costume are admired but not required. Alameda Theater Classic Movies features Elevator Gallows on Tuesday, February 10 and Wednesday, February 11. Ascenseur pour l'échafaud is a 1958 French film noir directed by Louis Malle. It stars Jeanne Moreau and Maurice Ronet as criminal lovers whose perfect crime begins to unravel when Ronet is trapped in an elevator.
Canvas Peace Project on Friday, February 13 at Rhythmix Cultural Works followed on Friday, February 27th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm by Artists' Reception & Auction, an event featuring author and humanitarian Dave Eggers.
VAD Foundation is partnering with HOPE for Araing and the Canvas Peace Project for an evening of awareness and world class art. Join for a full evening including a reception of participating artists and conversation with Lost Boys, Gabriel Deng and Valentino Deng, along with What is the What author Dave Eggers. The night will end with an exciting live auction of all art contributed to benefit education and women's projects in South Sudan. Tickets $100.
