ActiveRain is changing. Copyright Law is NOT!
There is an old saying, "A word to the wise is sufficient." Apparently, there are fewer and fewer people who are wise enough to understand that plagiarism is punishable by huge fines.
I reported someone this week, a first-time blogger who published the post in French. Well, no matter what language you use, copy and paste into a google search will bring up results if you have copied content.
So, DON'T! That is pretty simple, don't you think?
ACTIVERAIN IS CHANGING!
That's no surprise to anyone who checks in with ActiveRain regularly.
However, changes to ActiveRain do not change the copyright laws.
If you copy and paste content from the Internet and publish it on ActiveRain, giving the impression that you originated the content, you have violated COPYRIGHT law.
As many ActiveRain members may know, copyright law is a matter great interest to many ActiveRain members, myself included.
This morning I read a blog post that was, how do I say it, just too good. The red flag went up.
Checking one of the paragraphs in the article in Google, the original article posted.
Word for word.
That is not just an example of violating the copyright laws, that's just plan lazy.
