"Coming Soon" a New Business in Red Feather Lakes CO

By

I'm so excited about The Village Emporium, a new business“Coming Soon” to Red Feather.

In "downtown" Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, on Main Street,  is a little building between the Post office and the Trading Post, formerly known as the Village Antiques.

The Village Emporium

The owner is retiring after many years of operating Village Antiques.  She said that someone used to jokingly refer to the store as the “Never Open”- (which is particularly funny to locals who know about the “Ever Open Café” in nearby Fort Collins); but the store’s limited hours brought excitement when the door was open and inventory was always changing hands.

The historic building was the original Red Feather Post Office, and the old Post Office sign is still onsite, stored there in the rafters.

It’s sad to say goodbye to people who have been a part of Main Street for many years, but exciting to see new businesses bloom in our little Village!

The new business owner will be getting the shop ready and stocking the shelves for the Grand Opening sometime in March 2015.

What exactly will be on those shelves?  I’ll save that for the next post…but it sounds like a great addition to Red Feather.  I think you’re going to love shopping there.

There’s a new business “coming soon” in Red Feather- and it’s called

The Village Emporium!

Such a tease!  I wonder why will replace your antiques store.  I hope it's something that the community will enjoy.

Mary-It will be exciting to have new blood in the little town and maybe that in turn will draw more. I see a lot of snow in that pic. Nice to see that smiling face my friend. Hope 2015 is doing well for you

Mary, this reminds me of a scene right out of Petticoat Junction  when they added a new store in Bug Tussle!

Hopefully the new store will be open at least every once in a while so you RF Lakers can support it.

I am on the edge of my seat for the reveal, and will they be selling anything new that will cause young tourists and  visitors to flock to RFL for a Rocky Mountain High?

Thank you VB, I'm glad you came by...stay tuned for the reveal :-)

Hi Sharon it was a snowy day when I got this picture...but now it's all gone.  Jeffrey DiMuria referred to our Colorado climate as bi-polar today, I thought that was hilarious!  It's been a really busy 2015- thanks, hope you are doing well too!

Hi Bruce, now, that's funny. Thank you you for that. There will be no "Rocky Mountain High" *  sold here, if I understand the question :-)  but I believe that it will be open for more hours and provide a fun and interesting place for locals and tourists to shop.
Red Feather is pretty high though-8400 feet in elevation!

Mary, just you opening a store in Red Feather and greeting people with a Rocky Mountain "Hi" would be enough to cause people to flock to Main Street in Red Feather!

Hi Jeffrey, I think more hours is the goal for the new owner, so chances are good they will be open next time you are in the area :-)  Thanks Jeffrey!

Are they going to have a liquidation sale to make room for the new inventory? I went to a shop while in Lanai City in Hawaii that was under-going new ownership, and they sold stuff up to 2/3rds off. I bought an $800 bracelet for about $200 that I gave to my TC for covering my butt while I was gone.
