Horse Racing in Oregon is Almost Over

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Capital City 970700173

A couple weeks ago, I attended the Portland Mile Race Day at Portland Meadows Race Track in Oregon.  Aside from the fog, it was a great day!

Of course none of ever win anything big, but that's not why we go.

It's the horses, of course!  Watch them come in the paddock, read the stats, and in the end you just pick the prettiest one or the one with the coolest name!

And then standing near the finish line as the crowd cheers on their favorite, listening the the pounding hooves as they strive for the finish line.  Makes me want to go buy a race horse, or two!

February 10th will be the last live racing day this season, so if you want to experience the thrill, you better go this week!

There has to be  science to picking the winners. I would do what you do and look at them and see which is the best looking or unusual name. I would lose too.

I have never been to a horse race. I have  watched  it on TV and enjoy it.

Hello Catherine,  I am surprised your racing season is coming to an end at a time it would seem just getting ready to start.  And you picking winners reminds me of a really great movie I enjoyed ages ago with Richard Dryfus.  "Let it Ride"  If a movie goer at all you might enjoy it.  Mark

I remember the first horse race I attended, and picked the name of the horse that I liked and YES I did win! Not so the next time.

Looks like my kind of FUN Catherine. We used to go watch the dogs race and they are quite a beautiful, graceful animal in motion just like horses.

Catherine, sure looks like fun, and did the fog prevent you from seeing the race?
