Getting married? Think about buying your house first!

This Saturday I had a display with one of my favorite lenders at the Cambridge Wedding Spectacular.  It was great seeing all of the families exploring their options as they get ready for a new beginning..and often that will involve purchasing a first home.
But should you wait until marriage to take that step?  In the era of killer student loans, you may want to have the partner with the best credit score take a look on qualifying on their own.  Why?  Once you are married, you are also incurring all of your partners debt.  As a single person with better credit, you may qualify for a little less expensive home, but it could be the difference between qualifying or not qualifying at all!
With student loans impacting so very many families, it is a good idea to have that conversation with not only your soon to be spouse, but also a knowledgeable lender before you take the plunge. You may be very surprised by the outcome!

This is something that couple should consider.  School debe can mean having to wait a long time to buy.
