Great Neighborhoods To Call Home In Camas, WA
Each week, we feature one of the many great neighborhoods nestled in the hills and meadows around Camas, Washington. We think Camas offers a great lifestyle with the charm of small-town living and easy access to the big city amenities of nearby Portland, Oregon.
Washington has no state income tax and that makes it popular with both young families, and retirees. However, be forewarned, Camas does have some of the highest local taxes in Clark County. Those of us who live here don't mind. Those taxes pay for our top-rated schools and an abundance of parks and trails.

There are currently 2 active listings in the MLS. One is a stunning property ( I've been in the home for a reception to celebrate a friend's promotion ) with 5 bedrooms ( including a Master-on-Main ensuite) and 4.5 bathrooms. It has 6255 square feet and sits on a.37 acre lot with views of the Columbia River, Portland Lights, and Mt. Hood. There are 5 gas fireplaces and all of the upgrades you would expect a the price point of $1,149,900. There is also a 10’deep backyard pool and built-in hot tub. ( NOTE: this home has been for sale for a number of years, which indicates a pricing issue.)
The other active MLS listing is a bit more affordable at $495,000. It is 3,030 square feet, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The 10,000 sq.ft. lot backs to a greenbelt creating more privacy. The public remarks say a downstairs den (with closet) could provide a bedroom option on the main floor, if needed.
