Life is what is happening beyond your mobile phone...
Famously, a few years back, one of the first documented iPhone accidents was this woman walking through a mall, caught on camera strolling directly into the mall water feature with no clue. Check out this screen shot of the mall security video that went viral:
Locally, last week in San Diego, a reporter caught a guy on his sail boat texting or web surfing, having no clue that a Gray Whale was just feet from his boat. Check out this screen shot of the morning news footage, that went viral:
I watched about 10 people, get up and leave to take a call on their cell phones in the middle of what was "his" first interview in many years, back in December 2002, and what would turn out to be one of his last ever in his life. Who did these audience members feel was more important to chat with, rather than listening to Astronaut Neil Armstrong talk about his first steps, (mankind's fist steps) on the moon?
This is the actual interview, I was in the audience!
Go to any concert now and it's a sea of smart phones filming the concert. The audience members are watching through a 2 inch scree rather than the life-size experience, what so they can go home and relive the concert they attended but missed right in front of them?
Our families, our clients, our own selves, deserve better attention from us. One life, don't blow it!
