Joan Rivers' Upper East Side Home For Sale

Real Estate Agent with Karen Parsons-Fiddler, Broker 949-510-2395 BRE# 01494165

Image title

Joan Rivers' Penthouse home in New York City has been listed for sale by her daughter for $28 Million. The Penthouse located in the Upper East Side of New York boasts 11 rooms and over 5100 sq.ft.

The condo is located in a 1903 limestone mansion which was once the lavish home of the Gilded Era's rich and powerful. In the 1930s, the home was converted into condos and Rivers bought her home in 1990. Her furnishings are reminiscent of the time with huge rooms and Louis XIV decor.

The property includes 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, 2 kitchens and 5 fireplaces. There are 2 terraces which look out over Central Park with lovely views of the Manhattan skyline. There are two large public entertaining areas which can accommodate over 125 people, according to the listing agent. There is also a library, music room and ballroom.

They are hoping for a quick sale!

Sadly, it doesn't match any of my present buyers' specifications! We'll have to keep looking...

It must be nice to be the listing agent (or buying agent) on this one.  I suppose a limited buyer pool.

LOL hopefully, they prescreen the buyers and make sure they are pre-approved (or have that cash on hand).

I'd say a very limited buyer pool. Not everyone today would go for that kind of decor - whether they had millions to spend or not!

Karen - I love your use of a almost "cult classic" to segue into your own luxury market!  Well done and I hope the strategy pays off!

That is a lot of money.  And oddly, and I don't know why since she was always running around with gaudy rings and furs, but I didn't expect her home to be so lavish.

Karen, well, GF, let's just hop a plane (our own private one) and jet on over for a tour and lunch! Maybe we'll visit the Don while we're there....

I was happy that Joan got a grammy. Miss her!! I still watch Fashion Police, but hey, it's just not the same without her!

Karen, a lot of square footage in a city where each square foot carries a premium. Enjoy your day!

You know, in this type of listing, cubic feet might be more appropriate...several double rooms w/ 23 ft ceilings. Wow.

And, you know, this one would be very fun to decorate.  It could be done in so many different ways.

I bet this is an amazing property, I wouldn't think the sale would be quick, but you never know when the right buyer will come along.

Karen, clearly Joan knew how to live!  That is a fabulous location, and the terraces must have views that are worth the price of admission.

Our fascination with the homes of the rich and famous. I'm not surprised at all that Joan River's home would be so lavish.
