Will interest rates increase in 2015? I have an opinion.

Will interest rates increase in 2015?  I have an opinion..........as usual.   I doubt it.  Why?

The Fed has only a few with the power to vote.  The conservative members out number the aggressive members 7 to 2.

Jobs:  the latest jobs report was good and unemployment was low.  The next report will not be as self serving for the current administration as the last report.

We had seasonal workers enter the job market 4th quarter for the holidays and we now have lost jobs in the oil industry that will trickle down throughout the year.

Expect rates to remain relatively flat through 2015 and could get more attractive as the year progresses.  Inflation is non-existent so there is no real reason to raise rates.

I don't think buyers really understand how lucky they are that rates have been and continue to be so low for so long.

Hi Don -- while I'm not a psychic, I agree with you.  Buyers who want to buy and are qualified should definitely take advantage of these still exceptional mortgage rates.

Hi Don, I echo what Michael Jacobs said. I'm not  psychic but, I do agree with you. Buyers need to purchase now and get in while rates are low. One just never knows when they will increase and that really changes buying power.

Don, One thing I do know is that buyers are not concerend with rates going up. They have become complacent.

I've been reading much the same from analysts. I sure hope they don't climb - and that we get more inventory soon. The market will be smoking then. I'd have a half a dozen buyer sales right now if we had the right properties. And, the old methods of trying to find someone willing to sell aren't working.
