My friend, Paula Mcdonald inspired me to share my very own Valentine story.... My heart is full and today, I can say I'm not only celebrating Valentine's Day with the rest of you, I'm also celebrating my 14th wedding anniversary.
I met this guy in college and he was very sweet and kind to me. Both Malaysians, in a foreign land, we connected and dated. Our first date was Chick-fil-a under a tree on campus. He splitted the sandwich with me!
We enjoyed the afternoon between classes and 17 years of being together (and 14 years of marriage), we are still around.
Like many relationships and marriages, we have our ups and downs. We love and we fight. At times, we felt like killing each other. Luckily, we have more GOOD moments than BAD ones.
So, for our anniversary, he took me to Chick-fil-A again last night. This time, I got my own sandwich plus waffle fries, coleslaw and Sweet Tea too!
We are doing great! And now, I can have CFA sandwiches anytime I want.
After our dinner, he took me to Walmart. Not romantic to anyone but ME! We used to date in Super-Walmart in Moore, OK. We stroll down memory lane in Walmart at Frisco (Preston and Gary Burns). Walked for a little bit, then went home. We used to have a life, didn't start until past midnight but last night, we were in bed by 11pm!
How 17 years have changed. LOL.
That's my Valentine story and I'm sticking to it!
