This is the time of year when weather comparisons start to bite. Massive snowstorms and cold in the East and Midwest compared to sunny skies and warm temperatures in the Southwest and west coast. This shot of a coastal meadow in Mendocino County north of Ft. Bragg isn't meant to antagonize any snow-shoveling agents near Boston, but if you have ever wondered why people pay more to live in California, this may be a clue.
I am visiting a friend in the San Jose area and then we're heading up to wine country in a month. This New Englander can.not.wait.
We are always delighted to host visitors from the East during the winter. Especially right now when conditions are so lovely here and so nasty there.

Hi Dave Roberts ... Mendocino County is such a beautiful area of California. It's also like Spring here in the Pacific Northwest with temps in the 60's... We shoveled no snow this year!
Hi Dave - Nice photo, and I love the Mendocino coast. It has to be more than the lack of snow and cold - you can find that in Mississippi.
Dick - I think the Pacific Ocean might have something to do with it...
Rene - Puget Sound and all your great islands make Seattle the Pacific Northwest a beautiful place.
Hey, Dave! I do think you are trying to make your east coast blog buddies jealous!
