What is Happening in the Narragansett RI Home Market January 2015?

Narragansett real estate coastal view

Walk along the ocean in Narragansett RI and you understand the draw and why so many people want a home or condo here!  Stunning beaches, great oceanfront for swimming, surfing, fishing and boating and ecletic restaurants that tantalize the taste buds.  So what is happening with the Narragansett RI real estate market the first month of the new year, January 2015?

Home sales have slowed quite a bit considering the harsh weather that is being experienced here.  A drop in Narragansett sales from the prior month has occurred but not that far off from past January's Narragansett home sales.  It is New England and the weather can be biting in January and February.

So here is the Narragansett real estate market January 2015 facts:

Properties active and on the market: 108

  • Single-family properties sold in the month: 8
  • Average sales price: $ 579,000
  • Median sales  price: $ 310,000
  • Sales price to list price ratio: 96%
  • Average days on the market: 115
  • Sales currently pending: 9

Last month 8 homes sold in various price ranges with one being a oceanfront Narragansett home over $1 million.  Now is the time to find the neighborhoods you want to live in and determine whether or not they are in your price range.

Search for the most current Narragansett homes for sale here.

Be realistic and sensible when home buying here.  Most importantly work with a real estate agent that knows the area well and can vet out your real estate needs and homes to buy.  You need to know about flood zones and Critical Resource Areas when home buying and that takes the right RI coastal real estate knowledge.

Ginny the weather has been a challenge, but like you said this is New England and we can't let the weather keep us from selling houses.
