The Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants and Their Legacy

We are fortunate to live in a state that promotes history and culture.  There are programs and events all over the state that benefit from the funding from the Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grants. 

 

Here are the Program Goals

To preserve and enhance access to Minnesota's cultural and historical resources and to support projects of enduring value for the cause of history and historic preservation across the state.

Here is the Mission Statement

To support projects of enduring value for the cause of history and historic preservation across the state.

And, here is one of the programs, among the many it funds:

Kindermusik

Legacy Event

Branch: Saint Michael Great River Regional Library
Date: Monday, February 23, 2015
Age groups: Pre-schoolers
Time: 10:15 AM - 10:45 AM
Presenter: Sandy Fitzgerald

Move and groove to the music of a Kindermusik playdate with Ms. Sandy. For children 1-5 with parents or caregivers. Two sessions. Registration required. Ages 1-5. Limit 15 per session.

Sounds like a very worthy endeavor;  we feel blessed to live in a state with such a rich history.  The history of Virginia is the history of the founding of this nation.

Good Morning Ron. You are right Minnesota is a great State because it promotes history and culture. There was a time when I lived in Illinois and seriously considered moving to Minnosta for that reason and because of the lakes and landscaping. I love the unique birdhouses that you handcraft in Minnesota with your own two hands!

Endre Barath, Jr. This area was mostly settled by the Germans with a few Swedes and Norwegians thrown in.  Of course, it is a lot more diverse these days, but the heritage remains in the historic roots of the churches and other organizations, though they are welcoming to all.
