Why Should I Sell Now?

Why should I sell now?  It's cold and its WINTER! Why NOW? 

There are five reasons to sell now.  

1.  The demand from buyers right now is strong

The latest foot traffic numbers show that there are currently more buyers looking at homes than at any other time in the last 12 months, which includes last spring's market, according to Keeping Current Matters. These buyers are "ready, willing, and able to purchase a home! They are pre-qualified and they are in the market looking right NOW!

2.  There is less competition now in the winter than in the spring

This means, in many areas, there are not enough homes for sale to satisfy the number of buyers in the market. The buyers that are out there are serious buyers. So, this is good news for home prices; however, more homes are about to come on the market as the Spring gets closer!

3.  The loan process is quicker

One of the biggest challenges of the housing market during the spring market has been the length of time it takes to go from getting a contract to settling at closing.  As we know, banks are requiring more and more paperwork before approving a mortgage but there is often less overall business done during the winter months.  Consequently, the process will be less tedious than it will be in the spring.  Getting your house sold and closed before the spring delays begin will most likely lend itself to a smoother transaction. That is what you want, right?

4.  There will never be a better time to move-up to the home you want

If you are moving up to a larger, more expensive home, consider doing it now.  According to Keeping Current Matters, "prices are projected to appreciate by over 23.5% from now to 2019.  If you are moving to a higher priced home, it will wind-up costing you more in the raw dollars (both in down payment and mortgage payment) if you wait.  You can also lock-in your 30-year housing expense with an interest rate below 4% right now." We've all been hearing that by the end of 2015 rates are projected to go up by a full percentage point.  

5.  The most important being, It's time to move on with your life

Move on with you life! You know you want and need to move. Your family wants this too! So, perhaps now is the time for you and your family to make that decision to move on and start living the life you want and deserve.  Your family will thank you for it!
