I was reading Alan Kirkpatrick’s blog the other day when he was saying not to take life too seriously and have fun and laugh. It reminded me of a time when I was very sick I thought I had the flu (so much for self-diagnosis) but it was actually bronchitis. My youngest son Alex was also sick with bronchitis I was out a week, my son and I, were home together and let me tell you that thing really knocked me out. One of the days my son and I were talking on the phone to grandma and grandpa, and then I was going to bed, I was just tired and spent. My son wanted to play a game all I wanted to do was go to bed and sleep; his big brown eyes looked at me and I just could not say no, so we played the game it was a sailing trivia game, we had so much fun and laughed and laughed for about 3 hours, by the time we had finished playing I honestly felt better than I had in days, so we watched a movie after that. I think it was at that moment that I truly knew the saying “laughter is the best medicine” Thank you Alan Kirkpatrick, for taking me back to that day it was a great day in spite of being sick!
