Kaizen - a world of exploring
I have only recently been introduced to the business concept of Kaizen, "a change for the better", continuous improvement, the ability to increase productivity by making tiny changes.
My next step was to search www.scribd.com, my online library. which serves me well. I searched "kaizen" which produced 490 book titles, many of which I would like to read. (I have had similar feelings in bookstores).
Since time was limited, I clicked on The Kaizen Plan for Decluttering Your Computer by Lynn Johnston. This book is a mere 20 pages ~ a helpful read really. I appeared to be making all the mistakes and here was an author offering a solution - in tiny steps, in 10 minute bursts.
Johnston's premise is that a Kaizen Plan can be applied to any task that can be broken into small pieces and worked on a few minutes at a time. The key criteria are Simple, Short, Personalized and Affirming.
If it's good enough for Toyota, then I am sure to benefit.
