Floridians are Coming out of Hibernation!

This past week has granted us Floridians windy, cold weather we are not used to with temperatures reaching a high of 48 degrees some days, and as cold as 39 degrees some nights. I am sure I am not the only one who rejoices in the fact that this weekend was a high of 80 degrees, perfect for laying poolside or hanging out at the beach.

That being said, here are some to pep up your patio space for the coming Spring.

1. Throw Pillows

This is the easiest and most cost effective way to fix up your patio space and brighten it up for the warmer weather. Add some fun, colorful throw pillows that shout SUMMER. Use some funky patterns, or bold, statement making designs to add a touch of playfulness. I personally love these throw pillows from Pier One, specially made for outdoor use.

2. Outdoor Rugs

What better way to protect your newly laid patio tile? Or completely change the look of the whole area? Outdoor rugs are a sure fire way to change the feel of the patio. Personally, I feel outdoor rugs add a touch of warmth that a patio space alone can not supply. You can go for either a bold statement look (coordinating with your pillows, of course!) or a more chic, muted but still stylish look. Target has both of these looks here for affordable prices.

3. Patio Living Decoration

Of course, you don't need a huge outdoor space to entertain. Adding some new decoration can really liven up a space no matter what size. Purchase some inexpensive planters and plant some flowers you know will look great when in bloom this spring. From planters and window boxes, hanging hooks and garden beds, Lowe's Home Improvement  has got you covered.

4. Bird and Butterfly Feeders

By far my favorite part of spring is when the birds and wildlife start humming about.  A bird feeder is the best way to attract them to your patio to come say hello! That being said, butterfly feeders are great as well, adding a beautiful touch to your garden. Believe it or not, Amazon has such a selection of bird feeders, including hummingbird feeders, and some to prevent those pesky squirrels from coming in!

5. Accents for your Garden

A really cool way to spark up conversation is adding accessories to your garden.Whether it be labeling your plants and veggies with some cute signs, or adding some fun statues, there is always a way to make your garden come alive. The accents sold here are a fun, stylish way to add conversation pieces to your garden.

6. Clean Up!

Who wants to enjoy a spring patio with all the dust and grime left over from the winter months? Wipe everything down, scrub and sweep off all those dead leaves... your patio will look brand new in no time!

7. Update Patio Furniture

After a many cold, harsh winters, your patio furniture may need a little updating. You can choose to go with a whole new patio set, or a few new chairs to lounge about in. If you don't want to spend the money to get new furniture (which can be pricey!) I suggest swapping out the furniture cushions for a clean, updated fun, look.  Walmart has various patio furniture sets and pieces to choose from, furniture sets, bistro sets and cushions, all at a relatively low price.

8. Serve it up!

You've done all it takes to spruce up your patio for this upcoming Spring. All that's left is getting a new grill or cooler to utilize during your outdoor entertainment! You can either go with one that matches your new patio decor, or you can go for a sleek classic design, that will stay timeless no matter how many times you change the decor of your outdoor space.  All types of grills, accessories, coolers and grill covers can be found at Sears.

After all that hard work you've done, lets hope the warm weather is here to stay! If you'd like to visit homes in warm and sunny Florida and escape those snowy winters, please do not hesitate to contact me at (772) 237- 1718 or at homesbymari@yahoo.com. I am an expert at relocation!
