People want to move to Wylie Texas because we have that small-town feeling even though we have a population of over 44,000 people.  We have great family-friendly events throughout the year including things like JazzArts Fest, Pedal Car Races, Homecoming Parades, Christmas Tree Lighting and parade, Boo on Ballard (trick or treating in historic downtown), and of course the annual Taste of Wylie which has been happening for over 20 years!

Each year the Taste of Wylie provides people with an opportunity to taste food from many local restaurants and bakeries.  This year some of the featured restaurants included:  Taste of Home, The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen, Country Club Cafe, Fish City Grill, South Fork Texas Steak & Crab, Pirate Cove Cafe, Chili's, Chiloso Mexican Bistro, The Brick Tavern, Dallas Caramel Company, and Say it With Sugar.  Of course there were many other food vendors, and hundreds of people came out to support the Wylie Christian Care Center by not only enjoying the food but participating in the silent and live auction.  For many years, the event has been held at the Event Center of Wylie First Baptist Church in Historic Downtown Wylie.  This year was no exception.  The crowd today was lively and the auction was strong - securing more donations for the Wylie Christian Care Center again this year.

Wylie Christian Care Center provides short-term emergency assistance in the areas of rent, utilities, food, and clothing.  They moved to their new location at 1310 West Brown Street in Wylie Texas in 2014.

Coldwell Banker Jane Henry Realtors has been supporting the Wylie Christian Care Center for many years by being a drop off location for various food drives, and also by attending events like Taste of Wylie.  As in years past, a few of our agents have met up at the Taste of Wylie event to enjoy some great food for a great cause.
