Right now is a great time to buy. If you go with the supply and demand method. The market is loaded with homes that are for sale. So in return that will drive prices down. That is what makes a BUYERS Market. Just last year it was considered to be a SELLERS market because there was a low inventory which kept home prices stable. Well now things have change. This is what I recommend to all new buyers, Go to a lender, see how much you can be approved for. Next think about what you are looking for and area once you have came to a decision start looking. Finally the last step put an offer in and buy that house. I think the toughest part of finding a home is finding a home that works for you, finding a home that is exactly what your are looking for. Shannon, yes a Realtor will be able to find just the right home for the home buyer to chose from. And you are absolutely right...the first step is to meet with the Lender and get preapproved. No point in shooting in the dark. The home buyer needs to know what they can afford and what the payment would be. Good advice.
