If you’re like many real estate professionals, you use social media to communicate with your clients and market your listings and yourself. It’s another way to brand your business, show your clients that you care and reinforce your role as a local real estate expert. Here are a few ways to use social media in 2015.

Provide value. Although it’s smart to post photos and information about your latest listing, it’s important to post other things as well, such as articles you find online that would be useful for your buyers and sellers, information about mortgages, events in the local area, etc. The intention is to provide valuable information to your clients and reinforce your expertise.

Create content. Another great way to provide value is to create content. Many agents and brokers maintain a blog of their best tips, statistics and other local information for clients to view.  You don’t have to be natural writer or write a lengthy article; just write what you know. Share a link to your blog on social media.

Adapt your posts to the social media site. Each social media site is different. Facebook is great for multiple images and longer text; Twitter is ideal for short blurbs of info; Pinterest is very image based, etc. When you post an article, listing or other information, adapt it to the medium for maximum impact.

Include your clients in your posts. This allows you to tag your clients in your posts, which helps to expose your business to their networks. When you close on a house, take a photo of your clients and, with their permission, post it on Facebook and tag your clients. Their networks will see it and may even contact you about buying or selling a home.

Give clients a glimpse into your life. Whether you’re running your sixth marathon or you’re taking your dog to the dog park on a Sunday, snap a photo and post it on your social media sites. Sharing your interests on social media will allow your clients to see what you’re all about.

Although face-to-face contact is the best way to build your relationships with your clients, social media is the perfect complement to the traditional methods. Such great informaton! I agree completely that each social media forum requires a different format. It is important to really keep that in mind when marketing. Thanks for sharing.
