The Calvert Nature Society will be hosting their 2015 Huntingtown Family Campfire on Saturday, February 28th at Kings Landing Park. All ages are invited to learn about the marvelous mammals that inhabit our Huntingtown community. While everyone gathers around the campfire to roast s'mores, the staff of the Calvert Nature Society will talk about the animals living in our local parks. They will show you how to look for clues that these animals leave behind. You will also get to see some bones and pelts from these furry creatures. Find out how all of these mammals are linked together even though they are very different species.
The weather man is forecasting chilly weather on Saturday night, so make sure to bundle up tight. It might be a good idea to bring a warm blanket to wrap yourself up in as well as a lawn chair for comfort. Also, bring a flashlight from home if you've got it. Children must be accompanied by an adult. On the night of the 2015 Huntingtown Family Campfire, park out by the barn. Then, you can walk to the pavilion where the campfire will be held.
It only costs $8 per family if you are not a BCNES member. However, all members get in for FREE. Reservations are required. You can make your reservation by emailing the Calvert Nature Society or visit the Battle Creek Cypress Swamp to register in person. Make your plans to participate in the 2015 Huntingtown Family Campfire today. Reservations are required by February 26th. Spaces are limited.
