Founders Pointe is conveniantly located just off Hwy 96 and less than a mile west of all of the quaint shops, restaurants, art and entertainment in the heart of Historic Downtown Franklin, TN. It is also adjacent to another great Franklin Neighborhood; Spencer Hall.
Founders Pointe started in the mid 1990s and consists of 352 single-family homes. The homes average about 2,700 square feet, and typically range from between just under 2,000 square feet up to the mid 3,000s. Amenities include a playground and a pool.
The Founders Pointe community has a rich history. According to the Founders Pointe website, the land on which the neighborhood sits was first owned by Major Anthony Sharpe, a veteran of the Revolutionary War. He later sold 640 acres to Abram Maury, the namesake of Maury County, in 1799. That same year the Tennessee General Assembly created Williamson County and the city of Franklin was founded. Abram Maury surveyed and laid out the city of Franklin. In 1807, Maury county was made due to the growing population of the area. The Maury family homestead was located where Founders Pointe currently sits, and the family cemetery is now a part of the common grounds.
The neighborhood is currently zoned for Williamson County Schools; Poplar Grove K-4, Poplar Grove 5-8 and Franklin High School.
