There were approx. 25 of these Historic Casitas built in the La Quinta Cove area of La Quinta from 1936-1942..during Hollywoods' early discovery of the Desert. They were off shoots of the La Quinta Hotel..designed and often sold to celebrities or early entreprenur types. Designed to resemble the Spanish style of the Hotel with white stucco walls, and red Clay tile roofs, these Casitas have retained their allure.
52100 Avenida Ramirez was built in 1936. Offered at $350,000, this Casita was originally 2 bedrooms and 1 bath, but over the years another Bedroom and Bathroom have been added, bringing the sq. footage to approx. 1200. The original doors, wooden beams, and wood-buring fireplace are all here, and the most unique feature of this casita is that the current owners found the original Architectural renderings for the home hidden in the wall of the kitchen!
This Casita is on an over-sized double lot, and also features a detached 2 car garage. The backyard is filled with mature landscape, vegetable beds, and even a wood-burning pizza oven!
The current owners are local artists' and have used their creativity throughout the home, with hand painted tiles, murals, flooring and etched glass. Call me for your personal tour at 760-285-3578.
