Trader’s Joe’s I ‘m a fan

Well, yesterday was the day I was brave enough to venture over to the newest addition to Katy’s grocery store, Trader Joe’s. Wow, I was impressed; the prices were pretty good, had I gone there yesterday instead of another one of my other favorite grocery stores I would have saved $25.00 easy! I had a mini lesson on Trader Joe’s and there concept of branding. They go to the best producers and they pay cash for everything and they say went the highest quality and non gmo foods and we will label it ourselves. So, unlike other grocery stores they use only high end and the best quality. I had a nice chat with Josh, we also spoke about their wines besides the 2 Buck Chuck….but I will save that for a wine blog! Have a great weekend!

Yolanda, I knew you would become a disciple of TJ's they have the best Olive Oil for the price some of their products are seasonal too, like the Truffle Oil to name one in the Oil Category:)), Endre

I haven't been to Trader Joe's in a long time, but I think after reading this, it's worth a trip to Centreville, VA.  Just twenty mintues down the road.

Yolanda,  Trader Joe's was always on my list when I went to Chicago to visit relatives.  In the last year they've opened 5+ store in the Dallas area.  Their prices are definite a plus!  BTW, I'm so glad that Bob is okay!

Dorie Dillard I love Central Market that was the place I mentioned we had the stuffed ravioli with shrimp from there last night and it was delicious!

Roy Kelley I wish you did not have to go all the way to VIrginia to purchase their wines.

I am a regular at Trader Joes and it is great to pick up really good cheese and crackers for appetizers for a get together. Also, love their produce, and their fish. And I like their samples a lot, it is always something different. Last time I tried kale sprouts which were roasted in an oven with olive oil and salt and pepper, delicious!

TJ's does not carry GMO's and regardless of what our expert friend says GMO's are very bad for your health..

They opened one here about 10 years ago and it was the best opening dollar wise in TJ's history for a store it's size. The opened a huge Whole Foods here next door and after 3 years they downsized the store by a third. TJ rocks, cheers cvc

Hi Yolanda -- you don't have to sell me on Trader Joe's as there are multiple locations within easy access of home.  In fact, I've had clients ask me about the distance to the nearest TJ's while househunting.   Believe me, if you aren't already, it's easy to become addicted.

Yolanda, I recall first hearing of Trader Joe's almost 10 years ago but at that time there were none in Florida and the only one I could visit was in NJ whenever I'd visit family.  I was excited to go to the first TJ's that opened in South Florida around 15 months ago.  The place was jam-packed and the parking was even worse... there was that much pent-up demand!
