Things to do in Alameda:  Join for a full evening Friday, February 27th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm by Artists' Reception & Auction, an event featuring author and humanitarian Dave Eggers including a reception of participating artists and conversation with Lost Boys, Gabriel Deng and Valentino Deng, along with What is the What author Dave Eggers. Things to do in Alameda:  The Alameda’s Farmer’s Market is open to the public Saturday, February 2 and Tuesday, March 3  mornings from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine.  All the fruits and vegetables are available at great prices.  So good!  Don’t miss the opportunity to shop for delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers.  The market is on Webster Street and Haight Avenue and is open rain or shine.  

Things to do in Alameda:  Saturday, February 28 at the Alameda Naval Air Museum from 10:00 am to 4 pm see the unique collection of artifacts and exhibits emphasizing the role of the Alameda Naval Air Station.  The Museum is located at 2151 Ferry Point, Building 77 in Alameda.  Please call 510-522-4262 for more information.

Things to do in Alameda:   Saturday, February 28 at Ruby Bridges Elementary School from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm and Dance for Freedom.  Zumba class and Human Trafficking Awareness Event.  There will be a raffle and refreshments.  The event is open to all fitness levels.  Tickets in advance are $20 and at the door the tickets are $25.  Ruby Bridges is located at 351 jack London Avenue in Alameda.  Please call 510-581-5626 for tickets and information.  

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda South Shore Center and Off the Grid food trucks on Saturday, February 28, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm in the South Shore Center parking lot near Petco.  The trucks include Sensor Sisig, The Chairman, Cupkates, Sanguchon, An the Go, Bacon, Bacon, SAJJ, The Waffle Roost and Smothered Fries.

Things to do in Alameda: Saturday, February 28 from Noon to 1:00 pm Flower Bowls and Hanging Baskets.  A free workshop at Ploughshares Nursery at 2701 Main Street in Alameda.

 

Things to do in Alameda: The Meyer’s House and Garden will be open on Saturday, February 28 at 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The gorgeous colonial revival was built in 1897 for the prominent Alameda architect, Henry H. Meyers.  Mr. Meyers designed many building and churches, schools and the Posey Tube Portal of the Webster Tube.  The Meyer’s House and Garden is located at 2021 Alameda Avenue in Alameda. This house is a must see for Alamedans to discover what living in Alameda in the early 20th Century was like.  Free for members and for non-members there is $5.00 fee.

Things to do in Alameda:  Crab Cove for Family Nature Fun Hour,  “Minus Tide Exploration.”  Play games to learn survival skills. Afterwards, finds out what’s new at the cove with on Saturday, February 28, at 2:00 pm.  Please call 510-544-3187 for more information.

Things to do in Alameda:  Crab Feed and Auction on Saturday, February 28 from 5:30 to 9:30 pm.  The 13trh annual fundraiser for the Alameda High School Baseball Boosters, $50 per person at the Alameda Eagles Hall, 2305 Alameda Avenue in Alameda.  

Things to do in Alameda:  Alameda Point Antiques Faire on Sunday, March 1 from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.  You’ll have great time people watching, buying cools things, and enjoying great food. Entry fee is $10 before 7:30 am, $5 after 9:00 am. If you haven’t been to the Alameda Point Antiques Faire you are missing a great event.  Located at the end of Main Street at Alameda Point.

Coming events in Alameda:

Alameda Theater Classic Movies features Paint Your Wagon on Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4.  Paint Your Wagon is a 1969 Western musical film starring Lee Marvin, Clint Eastwood, and Jean Seberg. The film was adapted by Paddy Chayefsky from the 1951 musical Paint Your Wagon by Lerner and Loewe. It is set in a mining camp in Gold Rush-era California and was directed by Joshua Logan.
