SpockLeonard Nimoy, known around the world for his character, Mr Spock on the original Star Trek, died Friday morning at his home in Los Angeles.  Nimoy, 83, was a actor in Hollywood who performed in a variety of roles but will always be remembered as Spock.

The original series, Star Trek, ran from 1966 through 1969 and remained a cult classic for years in syndication (Live Long and Syndicate).  The wildly successful Star Trek movies breathed new life into the series and the original stars.  (1979-1991) several of which Nimoy directed.

Leonard Nimoy finally appeared in the current revival of the Star Trek Movies (2009 and 2013) as a mentor to himself through the mysteries of science ( the younger Spock is played by Zachory Quinto).

Live Long and Prosper, Spock.

The original series only ran 80 episodes ending in 1969.   He wrote two autobiographies - the first titled "I am not Spock" was written in 1975.  The second, titled "I am Spock" was written in 1995.  I think he had come to terms with his destiny and it included pointed ears and the LLAP greeting.

Not a bad deal, all things considered.
