Throwback Thursday-My First Cruise to Alaska
The inner beauty of Alaska is unbelievable and you feel like you are on top of the world. We almost did not take the land tour but so glad we did. We have been back twice since and loved every moment.
This photo was taken by someone walking by but it was perfectly aligned and we used it as our Christmas photo that year too.
Just a note here: That morning up in Denali, I told my husband I had to check my email and would be there in 5 minutes. I found a computer behind the service desk and after logging on, I was horrified to find a BPO had been kicked back. Now this bank had given me many REO's so I didn't want to ignore it for 6-8 hours. We didn't have apps on our BlackBerry phones back then so I had to take plain white paper and a pencil and do long math to amend the figures that my assistant had inserted incorrectly. My poor husband was holding the bus that was taking us to the Denali Park on a tour and they were ready to go. Finally finished and ran to meet the bus. They were all cheering as I approached and yes it was embarassing.
The main thing is you can be mobile anywhere including Mt McKinley. I now carry an iPad or small laptop and most hotels have WiFi in the rooms.
