What Good are Site Statistics for Helping You Connect with Prospects?

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with InHouse Writer

Did you know every time a prospect types in a keyword phrase at Google, Yahoo or MSN that results in a click-through to your site . . . it's like having a crystal ball reveal important information about that prospect?

The Google AdWords expert Perry Marshall said recently, “Anything anyone types into Google represents:

  • A QuestionHow to read your prospect's mind (from The Real Estate Copywriter)

  • A Desire

  • A Pain Point

  • A Market

  • Someone's Story”

Sometimes, it’s easy to forget that those search strings (keyword phrases) reported by your Web site statistics package are actual human events, very similar to a prospect’s dialing your telephone number and asking for your help with something specific.

The prospects coming to your site month after month through the same or similar search strings represent a market. Are you paying attention to the questions, desires and pain points they bring to you seeking help?

Are you listening to their stories and responding with fresh content, services or products that will answer their question, fill their desire or ease their pain? When you do, YOU become their go-to expert—the authority they trust.

For the hundreds of real estate professionals who come to my site each month through search strings pertaining to agent personal brochures, I’m taking my own advice and paying attention. I’m creating an information product -- a copywriter’s guide for real estate professionals on how to write and lay out an effective personal brochure.

I hope to have the guide ready in about a week. So, if you’re thinking of creating a new personal brochure, this guide will help you.

As a bonus, the guide will have a tool that advertising and PR agencies as well as independent copywriters and designers insist on having for any marketing or sales project. It really is the pros’ secret weapon for guaranteeing a project’s success.

Meanwhile, check out your Web site statistics for the search strings prospects use to find you. What are they telling you that you’ve been ignoring?

On a personal note, I've been away and have missed all of the great conversation here. As always, I appreciate your comments. Please come again.

Writing for your success,

Kay

Randy:  Too, too funny. I couldn't imagine what you were talking about when I saw your comment in my email program (the photo didn't come through). So I came to AR to look.

You've got me really laughing!

I knew I'd missed this place. I've been away for a while ... really busy and then had surgery. Good to be back.

Thanks for the fun...........Kay

What's with the photo, Kay? I looked at that and the first thing that hit me was the reflection thingie that sorta distorts things but mirrors an image. I looked back at the kid in the photo, who's looking apprehensive and uncomfortable in a suit, wondering: what's going through his mind? Where is he going? Maybe the restroom in an expensive restaurant. Perhaps it was, "Gawd, I hope they don't have those magnifying mirrors inside the urinals. I hope nobody stares at me."

There you go again, Elizabeth. Got me laughing. I had to come look at the photo again to see for myself. You're right; he's headed to the loo, and he's worried. But what I wanna know is the search term he types into Google when he gets home to help him solve his problem. If he shows up at my Web site, I'll have to refer him to Randy "Lazarus" McAtee.

You didn't even notice the great big word I used on your blog. Went to a lot of trouble to dig that one up, too. Take care......Kay
