The Storm Lake IA area market is picking up very early this year. Over the last 3 weeks I have listed 3 properties, looked at 5 more, will list 2 more this week and have buyers looking in every price range. I am working with a number of investors and have had 2 recent buyers who offered on a foreclosure to rehab ask me to teach an investing seminar. I am also a general contractor and have 5 buyers who want to build and we are planning to build two houses to sell ourselves in Aurelia (a town just outside of Alta and Storm Lake) this Spring! :)
SOOOOO Very glad to see the increased market activity. Over the last three years the property inventory in our local market has steadily dropped. Several reasons for that were, the national economic unrest, the closing of a good employer in a close town, and a devestating fire at another large employer located in Storm Lake. People who are uncomfortable tend to stay put, they circle the wagons and hold on. It appears those times are changing.
We are also looking at the possibility of adding another agent to our office, she will actually work out of her home office and serve an area a fair distance from our office in Storm Lake. Our area is smalltown rural Iowa, we are a small office where quality is number 1.
I do love Spring!!!
