It hasn’t been so many years ago that the specter of Chinese Drywall began to materialize and create some major issues for homeowners. It was the toxicity of the drywall products that posed major health concerns.
Tonight while watching a segment on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” a new concern has arrived. It’s with another Chinese product that is being sold here in America, by Lumber Liquidators, one of this country’s foremost laminate flooring companies. The issue is formaldehyde levels found in the product. In some instances the levels were 20 times California standards. And, it was enough to have the lab wonder if their testing equipment was operating properly. Apparently, the flooring is in hundreds of thousands of homes across America, but especially prevalent in California.

I was especially astonished to see workers manufacturing the product for Lumber Liquidators clearly state the product was not what they were labeling it, in order to meet California standards.
