Pinterest, it's Not Just for Recipes...

Services for Real Estate Pros with ActiveRain, Community Manager

I was shocked, yes shocked to see that our 2nd highest social referral platform behind Facebook was Pinterest.  Not Twitter but Pinterest!?!?

This should be a big eye-opener for us all.  You are doing an injustice to your posts and social sharing if you're excluding Pinterest from the mix.  Thousands upon thousands of people are finding your posts via Pinterest.

Do you know how easy it is to pin your blog posts?  Use the social sharing buttons at the top of your post or download the Pin It button.  Hashtags are a good idea to use too.  Rain gave us some good tips on how to do this effectively.

Don't have a Pinterest profile yet?  Start one today, create a few boards and start pinning away.   You can invite others to post on them as well; if you're part of a real estate team, this is a perfect option for you.

Pinterest Board Ideas:

If you're already doing this, leave a link to your Pinterest page in the comments so others can get inspired and follow you too.

My FaceBook page works great for me... Guess I need to take the time to figure out Pinterest.  Started a page, but found myself distracted witht he recipes and craft ideas so I had to get off the site

Kerrie ... If you follow the AR posts on Pinterest it would not be a shocker. If you use the link to the blog post route to hoist the images that tractor beam the surfer back to your beehive.

I too enjoy working with Pinterest as part of my overall social media platform. My new blog is in the works, but it will become a key supplier of "content" for my Pinterest page. Here is my page currently

Excellent post, Kerrie La Guardia ... and excellent advice.  I just read a post stating the same facts just yesterday.  Add on top of this ... Pinterest is going to be expanding its ability to place advertisements .. even expanding on its abilities to market services and businesses.  The good news is ... it serves a great purpose and is fun too!

And btw's my Pinterest link:

So far, just created the account and never really 'used' it to help me in my business.

It's not as easy as you describe.  If we use the Pinterest button on our blog posts, ActiveRain gets credit for the Pin,  not us individually.  Unless something has changed....I haven't pinned anything in a while.  I was having to use my Wordpress blog to Pin in order to get it labeled Sharon Tara.

Kerrie - I have not used Pinterest very much.  I thought it was to post photos and that made it yet ANOTHER thing to have to do.  I will post my blogs and see what happens!
