Nasher Sculpture Center First Saturday March 7, 2015

Nasher SculptureSaturday is predicted to be 55° and sunny!  What a perfect day to enjoy the Nasher Sculpture Center's First Saturday activities with your entire family.  Sponsored by Target, this is a Free event.  The Nasher is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and activities are scheduled from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  This event is designed for children from preschool age to elementary school.

Extra tour guides will be on hand to lead Family Tours from 10:15 to 12:15.

Nasher SculptureOne of my favorite activities is the Art Scavenger Hunt.   Pick up your Scavenger Hunt instructions at the table in the lobby and hunt for specific sculptures in the Nasher Collection while you are on tour, or head out on your own to locate Nasher treasures. Children love this hunt because they can move freely through the Sculpture Garden.  If you pair an elementary school age child with a preschooler, they can work together and the older child can read the inscriptions on the plaques near the sculptures.  I enjoy taking out of town visitors to this event.

Contact the Nasher Sculpture Center for a Complete Schedule of Activities.

The Nasher Cafe prepares meals for the children from 11:00 to 2:00. Please contact the Nasher for the cost of the meals.

Klyde Warren ParkKlyde Warren Park, connecting the Dallas Arts District with the Uptown Neighborhood, is just to the North of the Nasher.  I recommend taking the family to the park after you visit the Nasher.  Check out Klyde Warren Park's Activity Schedule for Saturday.

Parking is available in the underground Dallas Arts District Parking Lot, the Dallas Museum of Art Parking Lot, as well as street parking.

Take advantage of the first sunny Saturday in the last couple of weeks!

Sheila Anderson Today was and continues to be a bad weather day, with sleet, ice, and now a beautiful heavy snow.  The good news is that Thursday afternoon will be 46 and sunny. Then we're headed back to the high 60s which is normal, for a glorious weekend.

Hi Sharon,

Iagree with you as the art scavanger hunt would be a lot of fun and children of course will love it. I hope you got an opportunity to attend.

Bob, this is one of my favorite activities for out of town guests.  The scavenger hunt teaches visitors about sculptors and their work.
