Desert Botanical Gardens

  • Desert Botanical Gardens

  • Catalina State Park

    Catalina State Park sits at the base of the majestic Santa Catalina Mountains. The park is a haven for desert plants and wildlife and nearly 5,000 saguaros.

 

  • Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

    Take a drive on the Ajo Mountain Drive to see the flowers at different stages due to the varied elevations.  This drive also offers fantastic desert views.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum

  • Boyce Thompson Arboretum

     

    What an amazing setting to find not only wildflowers but one of the greatest collections of desert plants from all over the world!  The paths are easily accessible for strollers or wheelchairs.

 

 

  • Picacho Peak State Park

    The site of the only Civil War Battle in Arizona is also a wonderful place for wildflower viewing.  You can hike or drive and enjoy the wildflower experience.

 

  • White Tank Mountain Regional Park

    The White Tanks in the west valley have guided interpretive hikes on Wednesdays at 9am to introduce you to the flowers, other desert plants and wildlife.

  • Estrella Mountain Regional Park

     

    Another great spot for hiking in the west valley while admiring the Mexican Poppies, Lupines, Globe Mallow and Brittlebush in bloom.

Superstition Mountains

 

 

  • Lost Dutchman State Park

    The Superstition Mountains can be ablaze with Mexican Poppies, Lupine, Brittlebush, Globe Mallow & more when the rainfall is right!  We are expecting a great season - a wonderul hiking spot.

 

 

  • McDowell Mountain Regional Park

    McDowell Mountain Regional Park is nestled in the lower Verde River basin, the 21,099-acre park is a desert jewel in the northeast Valley.

 

  • Lake Pleasant Regional Park

     

    Head to the northwest valley to visit one of the most scenic recreation areas in the Valley of the Sun. Look at the flowers with the lake as your backdrop.  You can drive through parts & hike the rest
