New Guard Dog on Duty| Starting Taxes in Katy
Yolanda posted a blog yesterday concerning our new family member. The picture below is her on guard duty at her new home. Duchess is a very small and petite dog weighing less than 11 pounds. I am afraid to let her be in the backyard alone as we have numerous predatory birds let alone other animals who could grab her very easily. She is very smart and does let us know when something is happening outside. She seems to be trained to go outside for going potty. She has been here for 3 days and is already very spoiled. I know y’all are shocked at her being spoiled. I cannot imagine why anyone would dump her!
I hopefully will be getting a decent estimate this weekend of our taxes. Creating the estimate allows me file an extension. My issue every year is of course the Real Estate Schedule C. I capture all the expenses plus other stuff in a large spreadsheet and create a mileage log via Excel. This takes several hours and I usually file the actual return during the summer ( I hope).
I will do an article in a few weeks with filing suggestions. My advice is if you file a Schedule C hire a tax professional to do your taxes. By professional I do not mean going to one of these groups who have offices all over the country and or claim to get refunds all the time. I am suggesting hiring a Tax Attorney ( expensive) or a CPAS who does individual tax returns.
This is all I have for today. Have a blessed weekend.
