Buyer's Are Anticipating the Spring Market in Riverside, RI.

This has been a long, snowy winter here in Rhode Island. We still have 2-3 feet of snow on the ground and more in some places. The buyers are anticipating this Spring market like nothing I've seen in recent years.

This winter was tough for most of the northeast markets. Not only was it difficult to show homes or hold open houses, sometimes we had to cancel them completely due to blizzards. We've dealt with impassable roads, knee deep snow banks, and no place to park cars. What's a Realtor to do??

We deal with it the best way we know how. We shovel, we hold open houses in snow storms (yes, buyers do come out in them), and we wait for Spring.

Buyers in Rhode Island do the same thing. They trudge through the snow to see the home, they go to as many open houses as they can not knowing when the next storm will be coming, and they make offers once they find "the ONE".

Yesterday at an open house a couple said to me that they are anticipating the Spring market in hopes that more sellers will come to the market. Our inventory is low. Homes went under contract and sold during this winter. Not many sellers entered the market so here's your chance sellers. Buyers are waiting for you. They want to tour your home even if there is snow on the ground. They will take off their boots so as not to muddy the floors as this snow slowly melts. They just want you to come to the market.

As of today there are only 54 homes on the market in Riverside, RI.

Mr & Mrs Seller consider this a personal invitation to enter the Spring market in Rhode Island. We will welcome you with open arms.....and buyers who are oh so ready to buy.

Heidi, hopefully there is lots of delayed buyer demand for homes as harsh winter weather does deter many from seriously looking for a home.  Last year our market exploded in the Spring after a near record setting winter for snowfall.

Barbara I fully expect RI to be right behind MA with our Spring market.

Bruce the winter we had was a record breaking one. I'm finally seeing peoples roof with the melting snow. I know the sellers will start coming out shortly.

I'm having the same issue in Bristow, VA.  Not enough homes to sell.  Have a few lined up in the wings.  Can't wait to actually market them.

Chris Ann, I think the entire East Coast had it hard this past winter with lack of listings. I'm starting to see some snow melting, so there's hope.
