Tuesday Travelogue March 10th

By

Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our thirty-sixth week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:

" to enjoy the ride"

"take a trip without even leaving the farm"

"expand your horizons"

"see through someone else's eyes"

 and hopefully much more!

(Be sure and click on the links in blue.)

Marching across America...that's what we're doing. If it's Tuesday, it must be Louisiana! (Well, that was the next letter after K for Kentucky, which was last week).

What's Louisiana without Mardi Gras being mentioned, right?? Thank you, Eric Bouler for a little Fat Tuesday flavor!

Don't you think about FOOD when you think about New Orleans? I DO! Jeff Dowler shares brunch at the Commander's Palace--yum! (And live entertainment, too.)

Not everyone may be aware that yes, there is plenty to eat in Louisiana that is delectable, but if not careful, YOU  could become a tasty morsel ALSO! I dipped back into the archives for this from Mike Mayer. Stay out of the water in Vinton!

No Swimming With The Alligators In Acadiana or South Central Louisiana!

Now, that I've got you a bit scared of going in the water, how 'bout the Museum of Fear and other crazy things to do in Lafayette, Lousiana? Thank you, Elite Team.

I wanted to give a shout out to Jamie Mixon, as she has posts about "things to do in New Orleans" and doesn't have lots of pictures, but she does have loads of info on things to do during different seasons of the year.

Hi Gayle,

There are so many incredible places to visit in Louisiana - and so many influences- French, Indian, Haitian, English.  A cornucopia of traditions and Mardi Gras is definitely one of the most exciting.  And, did I mention the food.  Great Tuesday Travelogue - is it Fat Tuesday today?

I have had the opportunity to travel to New Orleans and nearby Mississippi as well.  Very  interesting place and a lot of activities as well.  Being one of the world's largest seaports does add a sense of drama as well., for some of the characters that one might see walking around

Louisianna is a great place to visit.  I have not been there in many years, but I do remember I enjoyed the food, the people and the music.

Good morning Gayle. What a wide variety of photos you shared with us, my favorite is the no swimming sign. That one would have my attention if I saw it up close.

I really love visiting New Orleans and have great memories of the food, the music and the damp musky air.  Very earthy.

Nice pictures, Gayle.  I like the top photo of the quaint little house.  And, the sign warning of not swimming with the aligators.

Good morning Gayle. I've always wanted to visit Louisianna. I'm not sure I'd go there during Mardi Gras season as I'm not a fan of huge crowds. I'm going to check out all of the highlighted blogs right now!
