Important News: New Credit Policies to Help Consumers

The Spokesman ReviewGood news arrived in the Business Section of my morning paper, The Spokesman Review, via LA Times Reporter, Jim Puzzanghera.  Rather than summarize the content of the article

Credit-reporting firms to overhauI process for fixing errors,

I prefer to provide the link:

Experion, TransUnion and Equifax are the largest credit-reporting credit reporting changes benefit consumers companies agreeing to changes which are of enormous benefit to consumers. Who doesn't know from personal (or professional experience or someone you know) about a credit report problem that has interferred with getting a credit card, a home loan or purchasing a car?

Some of the fixes will occur in coming months while others may take awhile.  Nonetheless, the changes will happen and consumers will benefit.

order your free annual credit reportsSince Federal Law allows you to get free annual reports every 12 months from each of the 3 major credit reporting firms, it is not a bad idea to order one up and make sure that everything is OK on your report.  To get started, go to Additional information, including how to read and understand your report is available on the same website.

Since a home is generally the largest asset a person owns, it is a good idea to know what your credit report looks like BEFORE you try to purchase or refinance your home.  Questions?  Give Jack a call at 800-617-3105.
