According the the NAR General Survey 32% of all home buyers, the largest share for the second consecutive year. The question of why millennials aren't buying is not a valid one. The survey also found that an overwhelming majority of buyers begin their home search online and then purchase using a real estate agent. Again, millennials are most likely to use an agent. As a real estate professional it is VITAL that you are using the technology that the younger (and older in most cases) generation is on in order to brand yourself. You must have a major online presence, your websites must be user-friendly AND most importantly mobile friendly, you must get used to using text messaging. If you want to impress a millennial or gen-x buyer your presentations need to show at the very least an understanding of the technological environment and be impressive. Furthermore you should probably make sure that all of your online activity is geared toward keeping the buyer or seller lead in "your world." If your site directs them to Zillow, Trulia, Redfin, etc. they will be looking at the agents that purchased that zip code.
Millenials and Gen-X buyers still consider a home to be a good investment. They are searching, make sure they can find YOU.
