In my last job I worked at Altisource (Ocwen) in Atlanta and its an amazing tangle of confusion. They handle this from India or Manila, and you have to just continue to work it out. I can tell you that attitude or frustration won't help though, just keep being nice.

I have had one, and it was horrible.  The are particularly keen on cutting the Realtor's commission.

Good morning, Joe.  I have a listing now that will have to be a short sale unless we receive x number of dollars.  Hoping we get an acceptable offer to prevent us from having to go into a short sale as usually it is a very long and drawn out process from my experience.  I would also be interested to hear any tips from Realtors that have had successes with the short sale process and can share what made their experience go more smoothly.  Have a great day my friend and good luck on the short sale.

As Joe has taught me, I have been faxing and emailing DAILY to any number or email I could find to get someone to speak to us. Ten days later, I finally received a call and NOW we have to have our sellers fill out volumes of paperwork again to start the next phase. It's a shame I have to make an annoying pest of myself to get a response.
