Retail Therapy

To catch anyone up who has not been following my blog, my name is Tamara Lebo and I am a Licensed Sales Associate with Century 21/ Sherlock Homes in Rockville Centre.  In order to ensure that I am equipped with the most knowledge of Rockville Centre, therefore, ensuring that I am the best equipped to sell a home in Rockville Centre, I have started a blog about the amazing town that I work in.  It has been broken down into 15 categories (ex: nightlife, public services, unique boutiques), in which I try to explore what is so great about Rockville Centre.  For each category I visit the place I include, giving you a personal experience for each section.  Some categories have included coupons to fantastic establishments in RVC.

This section of my blog features a small handful of the beautiful options they have for any woman looking for some much needed retail therapy.  It is so much for fun to go shopping in the small boutiques in Rockville Centre, where you get personal service and owners who care so much about their establishment that they are usually running the store along side their staff, than it is to go to some giant department store.  The options are usually far more unique as well and you run less risk of going out and running into someone wearing the same dress you are.

Rose & Eye

Rose and Eye is an adorable little boutique located on 4 South Village Avenue in Rockville Centre and has been open for two years now.  When super storm Sandy affected the original store located on 893 West Beech Street in Long Beach, the owner sought customer feedback via social media, to find out where they should open another store.  The vast majority agreed Rockville Centre is the place to go.  I hold a great deal of respect for business owners that care so immensely for what their consumers want. While the establishment in Long Beach is still open, the owners agreed to downsize the location a bit so they can open the second location in Rockville Centre. They have been thriving here ever since.  The prices here are competitive with the economy and high quality and a great place for women of all ages.  I had the pleasure of meeting with one of the owners, Michael Muratore, a self admitted neat freak, and so at any given time that you visit this store it will always be immaculate and charming.  I highly recommend visiting this establishment as you will find quality merchandise and above average service.  I am aware that I reiterate this in many sections of my blog, but I just love how hands on the owners are in their establishments here.  It just makes for such a great experience.  I truly believe this is one of the reasons businesses here are in Rockville Centre are so successful.  When you purchase a home in the area through Century 21/Sherlock Homes, you will receive a $20.00 gift certificate to Rose & Eye as part of your welcome to the neighborhood package!

OOH LA LA

Ohh La La has been around for about ten years and has six different locations between Suffolk and Nassau County.  The location in Rockville Centre has only been around for about a year and a half and is absolutely adorable.  The same woman, Jenny Montiglio, runs all locations.  With pink walls, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and absolutely beautiful merchandise this little boutique is sure to please the girly girl in any of us!  Jenny Montiglio was born and raised in Babylon, a Long Island girl herself.  Since she has been in business she has donated over $100,000 to charities including Habitat for Humanity and has created over a hundred job positions across Long Island.  It is reasons like these that it is so important that we support our small businesses.  We should keep in mind they too, support us.  Strong locally owned business equals a strong local economy.  Not to mention the customer service you receive from owners that truly care about the community they serve, because it is their community also, just cannot be beat.  Bridget (the manager) who was extremely accommodating, when I came in for some blog research, supplied me with 25% off coupons for clients that purchase a home in or around the area with Century 21/Sherlock Homes as part of our welcome to the neighborhood package.  Please stop by and check this place out it really is beautiful, has great merchandise and run by great people!

ISABELLA’S

Isabella’s is a women’s clothing boutique located on 19 S. Park Ave. right down the street from my office.  Very classy and relaxed inside, it’s a very enjoyable shopping experience.  Isabella’s opened in November of 2010 by owners Elizabeth Heins and Betty Ann Bracco. The clothing and accessories are absolutely gorgeous and unique. One thing that particularly caught my eye was the beautiful scarves displayed around the store. Also this month is March Madness.  Which means 10% off your purchase of $50 or 20% of your purchase of $100!!! I had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth Heins and she is so kind and she truly cares for her business.  Elizabeth has ordered coupons that should be available in about two weeks, to add to Century 21/Sherlock Homes welcome to the neighborhood package.  The business owners in this community really love giving back to their clientele!  The great thing about all the stores I have mentioned in this blog, they are all within walking distance of each other.  In addition to the establishments listed here, there are many, many great small businesses and beautiful boutiques all over the heart of Rockville Centre.  So ditch the big department stores and malls, where much of the clothing and merchandise is generic and repetitive, and support your local businesses, which boost a much more unique and personal touch!
