Gone are the days of deep reds and bright yellows. Heavy textured walls with glazing are a dying fad as well. Now what? The newest trend is light! Light blues, greys, greens and just plain WHITE.
2. How do you transition to the new and best color for your home? Look at the special features of your home and play with the tones. If you have white baseboards, doors or crown moldings use more blue, white and grey hues to bring out the color of paint and highlight the accents. If a stained wood is being used lighter shades of blue and green to make the stain and texture of the wood stand out more.
3. Clean is key. Do not be sloppy with the paint. Make sure to cover all carpet, furniture, wall decor and such with linens to keep paint from dripping. Remember that if you get paint on the ceiling and are unable to clean it up, you may end up repainting a ceiling as well.
4. If you still like to have some of the bright colors add them in by choosing items like fresh flowers, window coverings or wall art to add the pop of color you are looking for.
