Fishhawk Lake-Tuesday Travelogue-March 17th

Reblogger TERRY DRISCOLL

Gayle Rich-Boxman, from "the other" Portland, was so kind to feature Maine in this week's Tuesday Travelogue and I was pleased to see that she reached back to the past and found a post about my favorite Maine City - Bath, which has been a "Tree City USA" for 17 years now!  Enjoy Gayle's "Travels in the Rain" to Maine in this re-blog.

Welcome to the ongoing weekly series called Tuesday Travelogue. We are in our thirty-seventh week! Each week, some ActiveRain bloggers are spotlighted to take us somewhere we may not have been on some kind of virtual travel (and it doesn't cost a dime!). Here is the purpose:

" to enjoy the ride"

"take a trip without even leaving the farm"

"expand your horizons"

"see through someone else's eyes"

 and hopefully much more!

(Be sure and click on the links in blue.)

"Marching" across America...that's what we're doing. Maine in March, anyone??

Well, since I live near Portland, OREGON, I thought I'd start out with Portland, MAINE....look at this gorgeous photo of  Acadia National Park! A picture says a thousand words...check out George Kando's photos. Each one of his photos will take you to some great links...don't forget to click on them!

Let's see....how about a "lake camp" in Maine? Andrew Mooers has my heart with his delightful descriptions of fireflies, children's laughter, knotty pine rustic cabins...and of course WATER!

This video is rather long, but oh-so-lovely! Give it a moment and Andrew starts talking about the lifestyle. "You're outdoors more than you're indoors"....

After all of that exercise outdoors, you probably need to eat. How about exploring restaurants in York, Maine? "Best Restaurants", Margaret Mitchell style.

Lunch is served.

Bath, Maine....aka "Tree City USA", did you know that? Now you do! Thanks, Terry Driscoll!
