Google Search Cannot Find My Post Published on AR

I am flummoxed! I published an article this morning on Active Rain which Google cannot see? The last time I checked, 12 hours afterward, a Google search still cannot find my post. Yahoo and Bing bring it up instantly, not Google. Normally, the SEO title is sufficient to instantly find the blog (in my experience so far.)  Google fails even when I put in the entire URL.

I wrote to Active Rain Support who are looking into it. (Don't know what they can do though)

Here's my article  - it's a nice article really, nothing in it to stop Google from showing it to the public Lol.

My AR blog URL is:  http://activerain.com/blogsview/4624691/organized-in-darien

When searched on Google, Google engine brings up the following:

"Your search - http://activerain.com/blogsview/4624691/organized-in-darien - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:

  • Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
  • Try different keywords.
  • Try more general keywords."

I must mention that something funny happened on the AR scheduling. I had scheduled it last night to be published today at 6am Pacific time - and it was not published when I checked around 7am Pacific. So I went in, cancelled the scheduled prompt which had expired anyway, and published it manually so to speak. It got published instantly. I was able to search and find it incognito on both Yahoo and Bing, but not Google. I first thought Google search engine is so overwhelmed with the amount of extra data Google is handling that it was "slow".

Well Google has been exremely slow today :)

Has anyone experienced this on AR? Also if Yahoo can find it, how can Google fail to?

If it's not showing up on Google but everywhere else, I would say Google has a glitch, which is entirely possible. After all, nobody's perfect.

Oh gosh, it does look like something is wrong.  I don't see your article anywhere and my easter egg article isn't showing up either.  It's only showing up on google plus.

Not sure if the issue is on google's end or AR's end.  Maybe there is some code in there telling it not to index or something.  something in the robot.txt or something.

I don't pay that much attention on here as my priority is my WP site and tracking that.  But, it looks like the issue is recent - within last day or two.

Hello Nilgun Foley,  you did indeed find a problem on the site.  We were doing some upgrades yesterday afternoon to that little Google search widget in the upper right corner of the website that now appear to be preventing Google from searching new posts.

Our best guy is working on it this morning and we will submit all of the posts from the past day manually to Google to help it catch up.  We'll make it right!

Debbie - do you publish your blogs first on WP then on AR? The AR website is where I just started blogging this past weekend after Dagny Eason introduced me to the site. The WP site doesn't seem so intuitive, AR is so ready-set-go.

Yes, for all of my key posts, I always post on WP first and make sure it indexes and then I'll post on AR.

As of today, Bing isn't indexing AR posts either. Yahoo is the champion! Manages to see AR posts no other search engine can find Lol

Seriously though - how soon will AR techs right this problem?

Kris Neese Kerrie La Guardia  my easter egg hunt one is still not showing, so I don't think the issue has been fixed.  It is only showing up on google plus.  Please let me know when you get this resolved.

Google is definitely NOT INDEXING AR posts today. The AR staff hasn't been able to solve this on and off indexing issue. It is a shame really because Google is the strongest, most referenced search engine.

Dagny Eason your introduction to AR didn't stop with AR; I started actively blogging on my WP site for the first time as well. The beauty of AR blogging is that it is so easy! I had to pay my SEO consultant to set it up on WP which is way more complicared to set up (for me anyway.) Yes I would love to come to your Meet Up. Marked my calendar already :)
