Showing Extraordinary Lake Minnetonka Properties This Morning
In the real estate business, not all days are like this one. This morning I had the privilege of touring some remarkable properties in the Lake Minnetonka area of Hennepin County (about half an hour west of downtown Minneapolis). These were anything but typical homes and lots. Prices over $1.5 million and above are not uncommon in the particular areas that we toured during the past several hours.
Our tour of properties for sale began this morning in Wayzata, on the west end of town. We also took in parts of Deephaven and Orono today. All of the properties we viewed today were located on Lake Minnetonka.
We've listed and sold exceptional properties priced as high as $1.5 million dollars on Madeline Island. Our highest-priced listing in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area (where we do business as Wayzata Lakes Realty LLC, as we are licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin) was in the neighborhood of $2.5 million. But it's simply not an everyday occurrence to receive a showing request in this price bracket.
Working this niche market successfully requires an uncommon degree of patience and instinctive marketing skills. It's a price bracket that most real estate agents aspire to serve, but the opportunity to seriously and routinely work in this market segment can be rare.
I won't deny that working the top brackets can be exhilarating and rewarding at times. But we don't turn our nose up at serving anyone searching for a home, in either Wisconsin or Minnesota.
