An ActiveRain Comment Can Become A Post -

It’s The Magic Of AR

ActiveRain

Recently, I made a comment on a post by Photoshop Princess and New England Home Stager Extraordinaire Sharon Tara on her post I Want My Agent Physically Present Each Time A Stranger Enters My Home.   I wrote and apologized for my particularly long comment(you really should read Sharon’s post and follow her if you don’t already) and suggested my comment could become a post.   And isn’t that true about ActiveRain?  This incredible forum is full of ideas and concepts and re-interpretations and stories and sometimes just full of it.   In fact, Sharon’s post was based on her thoughts on a post by Praful Thakkar Where Did I Go Wrong? Please help.....

So that brings me today....I was working on a post to publish today...and the finished product didn’t look quite right to me so I went the safe way - and scheduled another market report for this morning….and then I read Eric Boucher’s post announcing March Madness Contest Round 5 - The Finals.   I actually read and liked it last night(and you should do both - he really has a great writing style) but felt my comment needed to be more creative so I didn't comment last night. This morning, I re-read his post, commented and decided my thoughts could become this post.

And so here is my post based on a comment on Eric’s post about March Madness Contest:

Hello Eric,

Sorry I’m late to the comment party but I’ve been racking my brain for blog post ideas and my head is filed only with market reports as well as doing my real job - selling real estate - it’s what I like to do...and AR continues to enhance that experience.

Endre Barath, Jr. is a friend and a terrific competitor.  He is most knowledgeable in his field as well as a wonderful supporter of four-legged furballs of the canine and feline variety.  He loves drink and food and while you see him with wine, I have yet to hear him whine.   While his post Time is ticking: Need your help! was not awarded a gold star in this most recent round of the AR March Madness Contest, I did see a kitchen appliance truck circling his neighborhood --- can anyone see the advantage of product placement in our posts?   I mean really...a brilliant strategy by Mr Barath.

I welcome the challenge for this finale of March Madness from the East via Praful Thakkar - in the flotsam and jutsam of his sea of reblogs, he will likely pull a rabbit out of his hat with another tale of a real estate experience gone bad with a magical post in this round. I'm quite sure of it.

And what can I say about Bill Liz and Bill Spear?  How To Get More Comments On Your Posts...CLICK OR THE KITTEN GETS IT!!! The man is a blogging genius.  I bow down before him, his puppy(borrowed, I believe), his kitties, his meerkat and his Buckeye friend Roger D. Mucci -- he knows how to pull out the big guns. Anyone who entered this challenge - who ignored those who did not compete with excuses of too difficult or too confusing(naysayers, I say!) are very glad that Roger did not enter -- oh my -- can you imagine?   The shenanigans.

And once again, Eric - thanks for hosting this challenge...this contest….this March Madness...I can’t imagine the work and time you must have devoted to checking and re-checking the submitted posts and eliminating duplicate comments and making sure each was unique.  And by the way - is there or is there not a video required?  These contest rules can be so confusing?

And as I am prone to do.  I digress.

Oh, and Sharon -- I'm still going to publish a post based on the comment I left on that post that you wrote.  And everyone else can too!   Thanks to everyone who comments on the posts I write.  I never expected to have people read anything I wrote when I first joined AR and while I enjoy the points -- what is truly great about this forum...this place….are the people I have connected with...sometimes only online...fortunately sometimes by phone...and luckily it can happen in person too…

p.s.: on a side note thank you for bringing the problem of my four blog posts to my attention on Suday. Funny part was after I got your message,  I wrote to one of the people who commented on your post did not even get a response back... two days later I got a reply from another one of the people who commented on your post  " Dear Customer" did not rate for even mentioning my first name  .....just sayin..."Endre"

Belinda Spillman - what a sweet comment -- thank you very much.  Shake hands?  No hug?

Mary Weiss - I'm impressed by the response by all three of you -- Brian England really knows how to get answers and things done.  Thanks for your suggestions and update.  I'm sure not only do Sharon Tara and Brian appreciate it but lots of other people(me included do as well). Thanks.

Hannah Williams - thanks very much for your support.

Sharon Tara - you love the power to delete plus edit and simplify and cleanse....

Debbie Reynolds - thanks.

Endre Barath, Jr. - that credit should go to Brian England who put out that request and that's the power of AR to the rescue.   Maybe we can chat soon about the second comment --- I'm not sure I understand.   I hope all is good - take care.

Michael Jacobs - you are so right! In fact, I am honored to be a finalist for 'March Madness' contest which I loved it and hated it, too.

More than 250 unique comments on the posts are the blog posts by itself. I did realize I created a 'movement' by writing that post - unintentionally that it will be featured and become a 'top commenting post' for me. Just to remind you that I have just added a few comments of mine - and there are just a few duplicates. If I respond to each of them, the number of comments can go to 500!

Well, looks like this comment is becoming a 'blog post' itself!

In the mean time, start celebrating.....(I am going to be true to my words.....)

Beth Atalay - we just need to be open to let the ideas flow as we both posts and comments.  If we practice enough, it can become almost like a habit.  Thanks for your kind comment.

Praful Thakkar - thanks for stopping by.

Endre Barath, Jr. okay, if you say so.

I am completely dizzy from reading this post Michael - you have my head spinning!  However, sounds to me like you are combing the comment scene of both your own blogs and the blogs of your favorites to come up with some of your more creative and free association posts and I absolutely love reading them! So onward!

Michael, so many comments have sparked an entire post for me as well, and sometimes the writer will say - you should write a post on that, and voila!

Excellent point about coming up with content by answering questions of other bloggers. In the online marketing world, this happens all the time. I have been writing based on comments for several years now.
