Ft. Smith, Arkansas Suffered Severe Damage.

Anyone that knows me or have read my post, know that I don't like to deal with a lot of negative things.  Sadly, this is one of those events.

Last night the city of Fort Smith, Arkansas and surrounding areas, suffered severe damage.  The first storm came through about 8 p.m.  Then another storm.  Then another.  Winds were blowing and the Tornado Sirens were going off all over the area.  I have not seen the rain blow in so many different directions in my entire life.  There was golf ball to baseball sized hail, and at times it seemed like it wouldn't end.

My family and I took shelter, and all we could do was pray.  Pray for ourselves and others.  We were blessed.  Many were left without electricity.  Many had to leave their homes.  Several had vehicles, and homes damaged.

The people are still in shock as to the events that occurred.  People were out boarding up windows and insurance agents might not see their families for weeks.  It was good to see neighbors lending a helping hand to one another.  That's one of the greatest things about this area.  The caring and helpful people!

We may have seen a horrible storm, but we will put the pieces back together, and the area will be better than ever.  The photo's below were taken today!!!

Wow, Ray...

Photos tell the story, don't they?

Glad to hear you and yours are OK.

I guess I need to touch base with my sister in Fayetteville...

The slide show, with its repetitive shutter sound, is powerful. Our prayers and best wishes go out to you and all those effected.

Mike, yes you'd better check on your sister.  They didn't get it as bad as we did.  Thank you.

Susan, I know you can handle what God puts on your shoulders.  Thank you.

Derrick, I alway appreciate prayers, but there are people that need it more than me here.  Keep the prayers coming.  Thank you for your comment.

Barbara, the weather has been very scary!  You know I am gonna stick around for a while.  Thanks for stopping by.

Rosario, Thanks for your kind words as always and your prayers for the people in this community.

Anthony, thank you for your concern.  My family is perfectly fine, and we were very blessed.  I ask that all of you keep those affected by this storm in your thoughts and prayers.

Jennifer, it was a long and tough night and it could have been worse. Thanks, and I knew the pictures would tell a great story.  It's way different seeing it in person.

Ray that is crazy!  That place looks tore up!  It looks like someone just ran around with a bazooka blowing out windows and putting holes in houses!  Sounds like there is a long road of recovery for the area.  But this is a great opportunity for folks to come together and be stronger.  My prayers are with you and those others affected.
