Help me Help you!

Whether trying to rent or sell your home, it should be inviting to potential future occupants.  If you want top dollar for your home, please spend the appropriate amount of effort/money to showcase it.  Paint provides a wonderful facelift that gives a great return on investment.  It will cover smudges and dirt you may not want to scrub off.   Appliances do not have to be brand new, but it’s helpful if they don’t look like they are on the last leg of functionality.

I recently had a listing of a home that has many desirable qualities…brick front, backs to woods for privacy, and sits on a quiet street in a cul-de-sac.  The home has great bones, but is in dire need of care such as updating with some paint and caulking.  When I pointed it out, the initial answer was an adamant ‘no’, but eventually changed to “I’ll do it only if they ask”.  I explained many folks will not ask, but instead simply walk out and look for another property.

My job is to know the market and what is expected when customers walk in the home.  Please help me to help you make it easy for people to say ‘YES’ to your home.

This is great advice to home sellers and landlords about getting their home ready for market.
