I've got my first listing under contract. It took just 14 days to sell. And I'm just waiting to hear whether the offer I submitted for my first buyer will be accepted. We'll find out tomorrow. All of this happened for me last week; just a little over 2 months in the business. I really believe it has to do with attitude. During the first night of my pre-licensing classes at Polley Associates this past October, the instructor asked "How many people have been told that you will not make any money during your first 6 months in Real Estate?" Nearly everyone in the room raised their hands, including myself. And the instructor then said something that really hit me. "If you believe that, then that is exactly what will happen. If you believe that you will make money in your first 6 mont
hs, then you will!" Since that moment, I have not allowed myself to believe that I will not be successful. I know that it is entirely up to me how successful I will be, and that is one of the reason's that I really love this business. Take advantage of every opportunity to learn something new. I have been in classes (CAMP 4:4:3) for a minimum of 2 hours a day, every day, since I started. I've been to multi-day seminars (Lead Generation w/ Rick Barnes and Contracts: Soup to Nuts w/ Dominic Cardone) that have been invaluable to my success. And when I'm not in a formal classroom, I'm self-studying online to add a certification (ePRO) to the end of my name. Or I'm reading whatever material I can get my hands on (Rich Dad/ Poor Dad, Think and Grow Rich) just to make myself become a better business person, and in doing so, a better REALTOR® for my clients. So stay positive people. Know that you can do it, and it will happen.
You go, Rookie !!!
Remember, though, when you go out the door to the public, nobody knows you are a ROOKIE uless you tell them!
We are having an upsurge down here in SW Florida, as well. It's been a long dry spell, but now we are having (many) multiple offers on REO property. I went to a real estate auction this week that totally filled the convention center....you had to have a $5000. cashiers check to get in the door !
So maybe your timing is REALLY GOOD !
